A lifelong artist, Anne Neilson began painting with oils in 2003 and quickly became nationally renown for her ethereal Angel Series. A favorite among individuals and private art collectors, Neilson’s paintings are inspiring reflections of her faith and recognized for their flair and use of color.

In response to demand for more access to her acclaimed Angel paintings, Neilson published two coffee table books and launched Anne Neilson Home in 2012. Her latest books, published through Thomas Nelson, include Anne Neilson’s Angels: Devotions and Art to Encourage, Refresh and Inspire, Entertaining Angels: True Stories and Art Inspired by Divine Encounters and the Brushstrokes Of Life: Discovering How God Brings Beauty and Purpose to Your Story.

Girl w/ Knife combines Elicia’s paper lust with her love of fashion, travel, a good laugh, and anything the color of rosé. Her illustrations are a mixture of painted, cut paper, and digital elements, with the creative process ever-supervised by her fierce white cat. Quite literally, there’s always an X-acto knife within arm’s reach, thus “Girl w/ Knife”.

As an artist raised in the deep South, Lauren transforms the simple beauty and rich heritage that abounded in the Mississippi delta of her youth into visual form. It’s a heritage full of soul and colorful layers and a culture as rich as the fertile delta soil. Although she now resides in Brentwood, Tennessee, with her husband and 2 boys, she still feels the pull of that heritage as well as a new connection to the hills and valleys characteristic of the Tennessee landscape and the familiar spirit of the people who live there. Using a palette knife to create layer upon layer of color, Lauren works organically to achieve a loose representation of her subject matter reminiscent of the aged buildings and chipped paint of generations past but with modern appeal.  Vibrant color schemes and textured strokes transform ordinary moments into cherished memories.  This ability to elevate everyday life – an old church, freshly cut hydrangeas, a lovely view – is at the heart of Lauren’s work and the key to her success.
